Founded in 1953, the Thirteenth People's Hospital of Chongqing was formerly known as Chongqing Railway Hospital and under the Chongqing Branch of Chengdu Railway Bureau. In 1996, it was appraised as a Grade Two A Hospital in the western region and chongqing. In 2005, it was transferred to Chongqing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning (formerly Chongqing Municipal Health Bureau) for direct management and renamed as The Thirteenth People's Hospital of Chongqing.
